After about two hours of journey on the sea, our ferry arrived at Sampalan the capital city of Nusa Penida, Bali. It was where we spend the night before beginning our next journey to two nature wonders of Nusa Penida, Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong. This was our journey, me and my sister to tempat wisata unik di Bali.
Ferry Go Round
To visit Nusa Penida from Bali mainland, we actually had option to take speed boat from Sanur, Kusamba, or Benoa Harbor with more frequent boat departure and faster trip. But, we chose to take a ferry because we wanted to ride our rented motorbike from Kuta.
Our trip with the ferry was different from our plan because we got wrong information about ferry schedule from Padang Bai to Sampalan. We expect that the ferry departure would be three times a day but there was only one ferry departure scheduled at 11am.
Our trip plan was completely ruined yet we could see interesting things on the ferry. We rode the ferry along with locals who loved to go to Nusa Penida for their prayers. Nusa Penida actually became the ancient prayers location of Balinese. We saw many locals brought their prayer equipment. The aroma of incense could be smelled everywhere. It felt like we were in our spiritual journey of ourselves.
Long Long Road
We stayed at Rai guest house near Sampalan market that day after our arrival. It was such as a pleasant traditional guest house with thick Balinese atmosphere at pretty cheap price.
We started our journey to Broken Beach pretty early because we did not how far we had to go on the road. It was rainy all the time as well so we did not want to get trapped in the heavy rain.
We rode our motorbike and witnessed the road change from the beach side road to the mountain road. There was a time when we feel like in the middle of nowhere because there was no sign of any local. However, when we passed through several villages, our sight was filled with the beautifully decorated houses everywhere. In a village, we even met locals who were in the middle of preparation for festival. It was very refreshing to see different side of Bali in this island.
Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong
We took around two hours on the small and bumpy road until we reached our destination, Broken Beach. Locals called it Pasih Uwug that means ‘broken beach’. This place basically was a cliff which collapsed due to the abrasion from the sea water. It left a huge well like hole which remains a natural bridge by the ocean. The blue water entered the giant hole through another large hole under the bridge. Viewing the sight of the water filling the hole back and forth along with the huge splash of water at the cliff afar was a little bit scary but ridiculously relaxing at the same time. Like we wanted to be there forever!
We felt like we could not take the road any longer to get to Angel’s Billabong but we were surprised that it was only few hundred meters from the Broken Beach. It was a fun walk through the bush until we could see the famous natural infinity pool of Angel’s Billabong.
It was rainy day and the wave was very strong so the pool looked super scary to swim in. In fact, it was suggested not to swim in the infinity pool because it was very dangerous. If we really wanted to play with water, we could choose the safer pool available. I personally called it the baby pool of Angel’s Billabong.
There they are! The happiest cows!
The view at the Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong was fantastic and one of a kind. However, we were more amazed because we could find cow dung everywhere. Yes, we were visiting a place which could be considered as nature wonders but also a place for feeding the cows.
We could see Balinese cows freely strolling around the area. They were behind the thick bush. They were at the top of the hills. No wonder if they also walk over the bridge of Broken Beach and take a bath in the baby pool of Angel’s Billabong. Greeneries were all over the place so they did not have to worry about their food. They could just lay down enjoying the views while chewing the grass for the second time.
They must be the happiest cows in the world. All they have to do was just freely eating, sleeping, pooping, and playing with the rain in this place of leisure. There was no need to worry about the life at all. I wished I was one of those cows until I heard of Benoa Sea Suites and Benoa Bay Villas in Tanjung Benoa Bali.
Easiness to Get Villa Rentals
To get away from our daily life, we actually did not need to go that far to become those happiest cows in the world. We could enjoy the pool which offered the beach view with less risky and bigger leisure experience at Benoa Bay Villas. The villas were located on the lagoon shores which were free from crowd. It was a perfect place to relax.
For more feel-like-home experience, we could choose Benoa Suites and Villas with Bali Sea view. This was the place where we could enjoy activities at our private villas experience with opportunity to mingle with local community. No more need to be one of those cows any longer!
Choosing the best villa rentals is surely challenging. But for our villa rentals in Bali, we could trust The Premier Hospitality that becomes market leader in premier villa rentals in Asia. It must be easier to find the villas in Bali with excellent experiences and customer services. Being managed by The Premier Hospitality Asia, we could ensure our ultimate experience in private villas with excellent standard.
